Former Winner of The Block Shannon Vos Partners With LJ Hooker
LJ Hooker today announced that former winner of The Block Shannon Vos has joined the network as its second brand ambassador. The larrikin tradie turned interior designer won the hit television program alongside his brother Simon in 2014.
Mr Vos joins DIY enthusiast and social media influencer Geneva Vanderzeil to produce exclusive content for LJ Hooker’s social media and digital channels. His focus will be on showing people how to add value to and style their homes.
Now a father to two young boys, Mr Vos takes a realistic design approach to renovating and home improvements.
Mr Vos said he is excited to partner with LJ Hooker to create beautiful spaces that will also promote wellness and mindfulness.
“I’ve always been a fan of the LJ Hooker brand; it’s an Australian icon. I can remember the ‘Thank You Mr Hooker’ ads from the 90s and the way the family unit was always a major theme for the brand,” Mr Vos said.
“I treasure my family like nothing else, and it’s this ethos, as well as our passion for home improvement and renovation, that’s inevitably brought us together.”
James Boulton, Head of Marketing for the LJ Hooker Group, welcomed Mr Vos as the network’s newest brand ambassador. Such partnerships allow LJ Hooker the ability to showcase its creative flair, relevance and expertise when it comes to Australians' most precious asset – their home.
“Shannon has a fantastic knowledge about what is on-trend for interiors – he has a very relatable approach to home improvements which our consumers will find both informative and inspiring,” Mr Boulton said.
“Ambassadors are proving to be a very successful strategy for the LJ Hooker brand across our digital and social media channels.
“Our business is not just about real estate, but about people, and that includes creating spaces that bring everyone together.
“We may be heading towards our centenary, but the network is always at the forefront of how to connect and build relationships meaningfully with its consumers no matter where they are in their real estate cycle,” he said.
Mr Vos already has a wide social media following across Instagram and Facebook. He also runs his own design studio called Vos Creative and, prior to winning ‘The Block Glasshouse’, Mr Vos studied and gained distinction in Interior Design.
He warns fans that while some of his renovation projects may not go to plan, he is a ‘stickler for sticking out a job until the end’.
“Our homes are often our greatest asset, so anything that can add value to that is a step in the right direction,” Mr Vos said.
“I love renovating, humour and creating something unexpected – I sometimes get injured along the way, so we’re in for some fun with LJ Hooker.”
