An exciting merger has strengthened LJ Hooker Property South West WA’s position as a market leader; acquiring two more offices in the Margaret River region with plans for further growth on the horizon.

Principal and Licensee Brent Spooner has expanded his business operations in Busselton and rebranded another local agency in Dunsborough as part of the new deal. This will increase the number of LJ Hooker South West WA offices to four, including locations in Bunbury and Collie.

“This marks a significant step forward for our business, and we are not slowing down,” Brent said. “We are focused on acquisition mode and organic growth and looking to double or even triple the size of our business in a couple of years.

“Our strategy includes scaling our rent roll, which we consider an important asset to the business and market. We are seeing more people relocating to the southwest, and rental properties remain tight, so we want to capture investors and maximise our efficiencies. “

LJ Hooker Group Head of Network Australia Chris Keating congratulated Brent on his remarkable achievements within a short period as a business owner.

“Brent is part of the talented new generation of LJ Hooker principals and agents accelerating our iconic brand forward in the countdown to our centenary celebrations and beyond," Chris said. “In the seven years since joining the network, he has gone from running a single office with four staff members to now having four offices employing almost 70 people and with further plans for expansion.

“Brent has been named LJ Hooker Business Owner of the Year several times, and this is due to his dedication and vision to grow the brand in this dynamic and important region. He realises the importance of digital innovation, investing in his staff and caring for his clientele, which has contributed to his success.”

Brent initially started a small start-up LJ Hooker franchise in Bunbury, but within a year of opening, the business had quickly outgrown its original premises. He soon opened additional offices in Collie and Busselton.

The new deal sees LJ Hooker Property South West WA merge with The Professionals in Dunsborough and Busselton. Part of this business began in 1977 as the Fraser Real Estate, a family-owned real estate company.

In addition to expanding the property management, this will allow LJ Hooker Property South West WA to move into commercial sales and leases.

“We are excited by this merger and the growth it will bring to the business. The new team are looking forward to joining the LJ Hooker network and can see the benefits we will bring as a young company with the digital side of the business and fresh marketing ideas,” Brent continued.

“When I first opened with LJ Hooker, I thought that we would just be a little boutique office on the corner, but it quickly became apparent there were a lot of opportunities.

“We work hard, but we also have fun. I’ve been fortunate to have recruited well, and I’ve never lost a sales agent to a competing company. I believe that it is about showing people their value, and helping my staff reach the next stage of their career.”
