LJ Hooker is continuing its expansion across key markets, opening a new office in Sunbury, one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing suburbs with upcoming major infrastructure, including a new rail link.

Principal and Licensee Adam Elsherif, 35, said he was excited to join Australia’s most iconic real estate brand, which is renowned for being ‘trusted and well recognised’. He has rebranded his independent agency to LJ Hooker Sunbury.

“In Sunbury and surrounding areas, most homeowners are familiar with the LJ Hooker name, and our own research showed people were more open to business under a rebrand than if we stayed an independent office,” Mr Elsherif said.

“We had already started shifting our business to the area, with around 80 per cent of our stock in Sunbury. It started with a land development and the business has grown through word of mouth from there, so it made sense to relocate here and start a new chapter.”

Head of Network Australia, Chris Keating, welcomed Mr Elsherif to the LJ Hooker network, where he will be supported in growing his business.

“Adam is motivated and ready to take operations to the next level, and being part of the LJ Hooker network will assist in opening up new opportunities and reaching those goals,” he said.

“Together with his team, they have a proven track record in this area, and the rebrand allows for them to now focus on this dynamic high-growth market.

“Sunbury is an exciting region with new housing developments and an array of upcoming infrastructure, so it is important for LJ Hooker to have a presence and to be there helping both the current and next generation of homeowners as we countdown to our centenary celebrations.”

Sunbury offers lifestyle acreage estates, residential homes and a mix of high- and low-density developments. The median house price range is $1.1m to $2m.

The suburb is an important part of Melbourne’s new Metro Tunnel, due to open later this year, which is set to transform the city’s train network. It will enable passengers to travel from Sunbury to Cranbourne or Packenham without changing trains.

The multimillion-dollar upgrade of the Sunbury Community Hospital is also underway with new urgent care, dialysis and oncology spaces opening last year. In addition, several schools are planned for the region.

The new LJ Hooker office, located at the Sunbury Square Shopping Centre, will look after acreage, residential and commercial sales, as well as building a rent roll.

“It is a very vibrant market with several existing houses and land developments expected to deliver around 7,000 new homes and there will be future releases,” Mr Elsherif said.

“Sunbury also has many older homeowners living here and in surrounding suburbs who know and are comfortable with the LJ Hooker brand, so we feel we have made the move at the right time.”
